Ben’s Asphalt Secures Highly Sought after Contract with the Port of Long Beach, the Second Busiest Seaport in the United States
Ben's Asphalt will vastly improve the asphalt paving throughout the seaport, where trade valued at $140 billion moves through each year.
Santa Ana, CA (PRWEB) May 31, 2012
Ben’s Asphalt, the leading provider of asphalt maintenance and new paving services in Southern California, today announced a two-year contract with the Port of Long Beach. With more than 200 employees, six full-time new construction paving crews, four full-time repair paving crews, three full-time seal crews and three full-time striping crews, Ben’s Asphalt is equipped to vastly improve the asphalt paving throughout the second busiest seaport in the United States.
Each year, trade valued at $140 billion moves through the Port of Long Beach. The port supports more than 30,000 jobs in Long Beach, 316,000 jobs throughout Southern California and 1.4 million jobs throughout the U.S.
“We are excited about the opportunity to make a difference in the community and to make the heavily traveled streets and terminals throughout the seaport more functional and beautiful,” said Bill Skeffington, President of Ben’s Asphalt.
The announcement comes on the heels of a recently completed project at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, where Ben’s Asphalt successfully carried out a 2.5 million square foot seal coat job. One of the top ten largest seal coat projects for Ben’s Asphalt since its inception in 1961, it took just two days to finish.
In addition to the current locations in Santa Ana, Riverside and Calimesa, Ben’s Asphalt is also opening a new Palm Desert office in June and expanding its Inland Empire division in Riverside. The new office is part of a plan for Ben’s Asphalt to expand its services throughout the State of California.
