Our Commitment to Safety

safety of ben's employees is a top priority

Ensuring Every Team Member Goes Home Safe

At Ben’s Asphalt, we know asphalt work is more than just laying down pavement; it’s a serious responsibility. Behind every parking lot or roadway we build stands a dedicated crew of people. Our top priority?

Making sure each and every one of them goes home safe and healthy to their families, every day.

We don’t take that responsibility lightly. That’s why safety isn’t just a checklist for us; it’s a foundation of how we operate. No project deadline, no job site, no pavement is more important than the health and lives of our employees.

How We Protect
Our Team

  • comprehensive safety training

    Comprehensive, Ongoing Safety Training

We invest in regular training to make sure every crew member understands the risks inherent to asphalt work and knows how to work safely.

  • job site planning

Safe, Thoughtful Job Site Planning & Traffic Control

Many of our jobs take place near vehicle traffic or in busy areas. We take care to set up well‑marked, controlled work zones to protect our crews and the public including signage, barriers or cones, and clear communication when zones are active. That prevents accidents and ensures safety for everyone around.

  • protective gear

Proper Protective Gear & Well‑Maintained Equipment

Working with hot asphalt, heavy pavers, rollers, and other machinery comes with hazards like burns, fumes, and potential crush or entrapment incidents. We provide and enforce the use of industry‑standard protective equipment — hard hats, heat‑resistant gloves, boots, eye and respiratory protection when needed — and regularly maintain our machinery to reduce the risk of malfunctions.

  • culture of safety

A Culture of Safety: Every Day, Every Job

Beyond policies and gear, we believe safety is a mindset. Our supervisors lead daily or weekly safety briefings, hazard assessments, and encourage open communication so concerns can be raised and addressed immediately. When safety becomes part of our culture, the whole company — and every jobsite — benefits.

ben's asphalt values its people

Because People Matter
More Than Pavement

We built Ben’s Asphalt from the ground up, and along the way, we learned that our most valuable asset isn’t our equipment, or our asphalt mixes, or even our reputation. It’s our people. When we treat safety as a core value, we not only protect lives; we honor the trust of every employee, every subcontractor, and every community we serve.
